m-Sync enables users to receive their business email directly to their mobile handsets. It downloads small headers only allowing the user to choose which email and attachments they wish to receive in full.

m-Sync was initially designed with Oracle Collaboration Suite 10g in mind but it is potentially available for any servers that use the LEMONADE protocol as it has support for that standard built in.

The file you require is a .sis file which can be sent via Bluetooth from your PC or laptop to your mobile device. Once it is received you will be given an option to install the application.

m-Sync is very user friendly and works seamlessly with the native PIM applications on the device. It is used in a similar way to SMS messaging – contacts can be selected and users have the option to create a new email message.

All m-Sync emails are found in your existing messaging Inbox. Simply navigate to this as you would to read SMS and other messages and the emails are listed there.

There are two commonly used ways of doing this. You can manually add details to an existing contact from your address book or select an address from the list of email recipients or sender and choose the option to add that detail which will then open the address book to choose a contact.

You can synchronize contacts details using SyncML from your handset or alternatively send contact details from the PC using Bluetooth.

Some operator contracts have been known to incur high charges for regular use of data calls. However all operators provide data plans that will enable you to avoid excessive charges. Your OCS administrator should handle such issues or advise you on the plan being used.
Yes. Your organisation may have specific policies on what can and cannot be downloaded while abroad. Please check with your OCS administrator.
