Mobile Integration

There has been a significant trend toward increasing use of mobile devices by corporate personnel even when a deskphone option is available. This behaviour incurs greater cost to the company but is driven by the richer user experience on many mobile handsets. There is now greater demand from enterprises wishing to have integrated PBX systems that allow mobile handsets access to the full range of features. As a mobile integration expert, EMCC Software has created solutions for a range of PBX vendors based on a fully functioning product that can be branded and customised as required.

Assisted Setup

In rolling out the mobile integration solution, the mobile handsets need to be provisioned with the necessary software and settings to enable them to become part of the PBX system and operate as the other extensions. EMCC has created a provisioning server that allows the management and automation of over-the air delivery of software and settings, initiated by SMS messaging. It allows features such as updates and device lockdowns to be managed.

Wi-Fi Access

Access to Wi-Fi hotspots has several issues within an enterprise setting. There are often several access points possibly provisioning different WiFi networks with one reserved for VoIP. There may be authentication issues for public hotspots and issues around capabilities and bandwidth. EMCC has developed a solution that enables setup and management of Wi-Fi access points thereby minimizing user input to gain access.

Rich Features

The solutions created by EMCC are designed to adopt menus and screen layouts similar to the interface used by existing extensions to avoid users having to remember two different ways of working. The mobile integration application is also fully featured in terms of PBX functionality (often referred to as “star commands”) and supports features such as call-through & call-back automatically depending on what is best for users without requiring their interaction.
