“Symbian Signed” Certification
EMCC Software can take your application through the Symbian Signed Certification process.
Applications designed for S60 or UIQ must go through the Symbian Signed process. This provides involves ensuring that the application meets certain coding standards and behaves in an expected and secure manner when undertaking certain operations such as communications. As a Symbian Competence Centre, EMCC has been creating products to these standards for many years and has been awarded the status of Symbian Certifier. EMCC has the capacity to write applications to Symbian Signed standards but also to sign applications created by other parties.
The range of requirement for achieving certification includes:
Designing applications to industry standards.
Writing all code to Symbian standards.
Identifying required capabilities.
Ensuring compliance with required platform security practices.
Notifying users when communications are initiated and when incurring charges.
Protecting user data against loss or leakage.
Ensuring the application dies not interfere with the correct operation of networks or handsets.
